Procedure followed at MRD Div of General American Transportation Corp to determine effective weight penalty for equally reliable life-support systems so that more meaningful comparisons may be made; method allows accurate comparisons of system effectiveness and yields data concerning system availability, resupply requirements, instrumentation requirements, and areas in need of further development; basic steps in reliability analysis of 3 CO2 removal systems, synthesized for mission with 2 crew members in vehicle with no waste heat utilization nor oxygen regeneration system.
