Shell International Marine developed new instruments for recording vital data on board ship, and organized new wireless transmission arrangements permitting data to be brought, through cooperation of British G.P.O. and Dutch P.T.T., directly into Shell Centre in London, for improving efficiency of oil tanker operation; shipborne installation consists of Creed model 92 tape reader, Marconi Autospec with 2-tone telegraph equipment arranged for transmission, and ship's main radio transmitter.
