Results of investigation of normal sources of hydrocarbon emissions of passenger cars, considered to consist of crankcase ventilation and exhaust systems, carburetor, and fuel tank vent; 5 vehicles were used and several mechanical conditions and engine and power train configurations examined; largest single source of emissions was found to be exhaust, followed by road draft tube.
