Possibilities in mechanizing small rail laying gangs, are demonstrated clearly by experience of gang on Chicago and North Western, which, using four power units, increased output per man-hour by 250%, compared with that obtained when all operations were performed manually; article describes changes brought about in organization and output of gang as machines were added.
