Analysis is presented of steady flight at constant altitude on minor-circle paths about spherical, nonrotating earth, applicable to hypersonic aircraft capable of maneuvering in earth's atmosphere and of achieving orbital motion; steady flight on minor circles is governed by lift, temperature, thrust, and available technology boundary; analysis shows that within these boundaries useful operating corridor exists and that none of missions envisaged for vehicles, such as reusable satellite launchers, space-station service or surveillance vehicles, using these paths is impossible.
