Prelaunch, launch, orbit, re-entry, and planetary dwell are principal environments of spacecraft life and it would be ideal to simulate them exactly; this is neither technically nor economically feasible; however, simulators used at Goddard Space Flight Center have proved highly effective in detecting correctable problems on both prototype and flight units; tabular data and diagrams of simulation tests are presented and statistical data discussed.
