Mechanical properties of processed snow were correlated with its wheel-load supporting capacity; strength profiles are shown and compared with required strength profiles for various types of wheeled vehicles and aircraft; study was carried out to combine research in processes of sintering with methods and procedures developed for using snow as construction material; results are applicable to construction of snow runways for variety of wheeled aircraft and construction of snow roads for wheeled vehicle traffic; methods described apply to areas with annual snow cover.
