For equal-loudness noise perceived monaurally and binaurally, difference between acoustic pressure levels is independent of interaural correlation coefficient and noise perceived binaurally attains equal loudness at same acoustic pressure level, irrespective of correlation coefficient; loudness associated with perception of independent components of complex noise image for correlation coefficient r and with fractions of correlated and independent noise is very strongly dependent on correlation coefficient.
