First combination of freight and passenger motorliner in America, built by Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co., Chester, Pa.; length o.a. 470 ft. 8 in.; beam 61 ft.6 in.; depth 37 ft.; propelled by two 4-cylinder Sun-Doxford opposed-piston reversible oil engines each 2700 s.hp. at 100 r.p.m. driving twin screws and capable of maintaining speed of 13 1/2 knots; cylinder bore 23.62 in. and stroke 79.12 in.; passenger accommodations.
