Radio-telephone system of S.S. Leviathan; during ship's successive trips last autumn, system was tried out and modified and shore receiving station was established at Forked River, N. J., where set similar to those at Netcong was installed; scheme of transmission involves use of four different carrier frequencies: two of about 4200 kilocycles for transmitting in two directions at short distances, and two of about 8700 kilocycles at longer distances.
