Commercial alloys and wrought products; riveting, welding, and hot forming; casting alloys; corrosion and protection; most extensive use of aluminum alloys in ship construction has been made by U. S. Navy Department; aside from use by Navy Department in ships and flying boats, use of aluminum in marine construction has lagged behind its use on land; outboard motor is manufactured very largely from aluminum alloys, high strength no. 195 alloy castings being used for many of parts.
