Airworthiness is defined as contribution made by aircraft/operator/route combination to continuing safe conduct of flight throughout useful life of aircraft, having proper regard for welfare of public as passengers and occupants of territory flown over; events leading to inception of Air Registration Board are described, its activities and publications; examples of airworthiness problems.
