Basic considerations and requirements formulated for aircraft to be introduced into fleet of British United Airways, which was needed to extend work being carried out by several different types of Viscount; payload of 14,000 lb over sectors of 1000 nautical mi with full airline reserves was required for aircraft operating from 5000-ft runways; BAC-One Eleven was final choice for service; payload/range characteristics of 200 Series One-Eleven are shown and operational, commercial and technical aspects of aircraft's specifications are discussed.
