Hardness, thermal expansivity, density, melting point, electrical conductivity, and adherence of chromium are discussed; successful application, because of its wearing properties, to gages and other measuring devices, to drawing, forming, stamping and molding dies, to rolls for forming metals, to tools for cutting metal, and to bearing surfaces in machinery; savings much greater in amount resulting from reducing number of times that machine must be stopped for their replacement.
