Loss of motor cargo boat Lochmonar, which ran aground early in December at mouth of Mersey and broke her back with cargo on board of estimated value of 400,000 pounds, is interesting case of failure of ship's hull under abnormal conditions of loading which, possibly, were never contemplated or taken into account by her designers.
