Smit, Jr., Rotterdam, for West Indies mail service of Royal Netherlands Steamship Co., Amsterdam; length, 315 ft.; molded breadth, 47 ft.; draft, 21 ft. 1 3/4 in.; gross tonnage, 3800 tons; propelling machinery consists of triple-expansion, surface-condensing engine, developing 1900 hp. at 90 r.p.m.; super-heated steam supplied by 2 singleended Scotch boilers fitted with Howden's system of forced draft for working pressure of 205 lb. per sq. in. and arranged to burn either oil fuel or coal.
