Keel is laid in Quincy yard of Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corp. for first two colliers having pulverized-coal installations; 6900-ton coal-carrying capacity; vessels will be 366 ft. 6 in. long overall; to be equipped with water-tube boilers and turbine-propelling machinery; all Babcock and Wilcox pulverized coal equipment is to be used; pulverized coal test on English ship Stuartstar, using one of boilers for this purpose; figures regarding results are not yet available.
