High speed train is intended to run on existing track of British Railway's routes with high standard of riding comfort at speeds some 50% greater than present trains without increase in direct operating cost; further feature of design is its operational flexibility; number of passenger cars in train, seating layout, number of power cars, and speed capability, can be selected to suit requirements of particular route; by increasing number of power cars in train, it would be possible to obtain speeds in everyday operation as high as 200 mph on suitable track with very large radius curves and adequate signaling and braking distances.
