Review of work done by Sulzer Bros to meet rail traction requirements during 50-yr experience of Diesel engine building; first Diesel locomotive built by this firm was tried out on Prussian State Railways in 1913; it was 2-stroke 4-cyl V-engine of 1000 bhp acting through coupling rods directly on driving axles.
