Experience in combating cold weather operation of army vehicles in Alaska; new subzero oil being tested has pour point of -- 50 F and minimum flash point of 320 F; new low temperature tire has same characteristics as normal rubber tires, and remains flexible at temperatures down to -- 50 F; gasoline fueled auxiliary system developed for preheating engines; new amphibious personnel carrier called Otter, currently under test, described.
