14,500-ton twin screw liner built and engined by Barclay, Curle and Co, at their yard at Whiteinch, Glasgow; length of 540 ft; breadth molded 71 ft; propelling machinery consists of two sets of Parsons steam turbines arranged to drive twin screws through single reduction double helical gears; accommodations for 300 passengers.
