Built by Calumet, Chicago for Ashland Oil and Refining Co, ship will tow oil from terminals near New Orleans up Mississippi and Ohio rivers; initial tow consists of fifteen semiintegrated, 10,000 bbl oil barges, length of tug 150 ft; beam 50 ft, draft 10 ft 6 in.; powered by three model 16-278A GM Cleveland Diesels, developing 1600 hp each at 750 rpm.
