According to author, action of unsprung masses on waves of one wheelbase and shorter, especially at high speeds, is important for riding comfort; results of study reveal unsprung masses greatly reduce harshness, but they amplify wheelhop and make suspension shakes possible, and these effects must be overcome by choice of suspension geometry and stiffnesses; trial and error methods on given car will always be necessary to find best balance of many factors involved.
