It has been suggested that vibration was magnified by resonance between natural frequency of system and impulses arising from number of blades on propeller, and that amplitude would be reduced to acceptable figure by changing number of blades; vibration trials carried out to confirm theory; results of measurement of vibration during sea trials of ten ships and static deflection test of thrust block on shore under full thrust load.
