Gasoline deposit discovered about 1936 at depth of 35 ft near Culver City airport in Los Angeles. Basin is of unknown origin; evidence leads to belief that gasoline occurs in buried river bed, to which it was introduced either from leaking pipe line or by condensation of vapors ascending along fault plane; 3 wells are commercial producers; analysis of product.
