Cause of peeling of locomotive wheel tires; how German Government Railroads have overcome trouble by using harder steel; results of investigation by M. ROS and A. EICHINGER, which showed that when two rollers were tested in Amsler machine in dry state and then in water, amount of peeling was much greater in latter case; results of author's study and conclusions.
