History of fine-lined China tea clipper of 963 tons gross, restoration of ship and construction of permanent drydock, illustrated by original drafts, documents and contemporary photographs; ship was built at Scott and Linton yard for J.Willis to design by H.Linton and lines faired by J.Rennie, and launched Nov 22 1869; hull was one of few of composite construction (iron frame with wood planking that could be coppered); investigations relating to wood preservation, Lloyd's Register First Survey Report are among aspects brought out or amplified in discussion.
