Problem of perfect, frictionless, suspension of body mounted upon rotating shaft with two degrees of freedom of deflection of its spin axis is considered; frictionless suspension is achievable by various dynamic means which combine positive restoring torque of elastic suspension with negative spring effect created by auxiliary element attached to gyro rotor; in approaches analyzed, periodically varying torques created by swiveling auxiliary element experience phase-sensitive demodulation, and are applied as steady-state negative torque to rotor; negative torque counteracts positive restoring torque of suspension; mechanism of phenomena and design principles.
