Recent findings of highway impact research conducted at Pennsylvania State University are presented; research aims at prediction of economic development, design of alternative land-use plans for highway protection, and determination of factors conducive to adoption of protective measures at interchange sites; economic analyses of actual and hypothetical data largely reveal beneficial highway impact.
