New entrance has been provided so that Port of London shall have adequate facilities for vessels of large dimensions; other works include new drydock, 750 ft. long internally, 110 ft. wide at entrance; diversion of railways for freight and passenger traffic to south side of main dock and provision of road access thereto; provision of additional 800 lin. ft. of quayage in main dock and increase of water area of dock by 15 acres; details of design, construction, costs, etc. (see also Engineer, Sept. 27, p. 320, figs. on supp. plate, and Shipbldg. and Shipg.
