New weapon system concept DASH (Drone Anti-Submarine Helicopter), involves use of remotely controlled or drone helicopters operating from destroyer deck, and capable of carrying and delivering antisubmarine weapons far beyond horizon; program undertaken by Gyrodyne Co to investigate feasibility of droning helicopter; development of interim piloted configurations to pure drone unpiloted prototype DSN-1 Drone; approach to flight testing of helicopter drones which made possible development of DSN-3 Drone.
