Planning criteria for design of passenger terminal aprons involving size of aircraft parking or gate positions, parking configurations and number of positions are discussed; types of servicing operations involved in parking of aircraft for transfer of passengers are described; for purpose of study times were established for originating, terminating, through and turnaround flights, and these times were further modified to account for difference in aircraft type; apron configurations or aircraft parking arrangements are studied for new major airport terminals.
