One of the important focus of the high-speed railway transition curves' study is whether the linetype of them are set up rationally or not and whether it directly effects the train's running stability and comfort of passengers. A high-speed passenger vehicle model which has 93 degrees of freedom was established by adopting the MSC.ADAMS/Rail that is rail/vehicle system dynamics numerical software. The lateral changes of carbody acceleration (LCA) of cubic parabola (CP), half-wave sinusoidal (HS) and sinusoidal (SI) transition curves were theoretically calculated and simulated in five-different motion models which were established based on the change regularity of vehicle velocity. Then the theoretical results and simulation of the lateral changes of the carbody acceleration in five-different motion models were compared and analyzed. The results shows that HS is superior to the others by taking into account the motions with positive or negative acceleration, and in order to improve passengers comfort. It suggests that HS should be used at both ends of the station area where the vehicle motion is with acceleration.
