When the train enters a station with platform screen doors (PSD), the platform screen doors open as soon as the train stops and air enters or exits from platform to tunnel due to the train motion at same time. This air change will augment the air-conditioner load of platform. So it is very important for the designer to know the air change between platform and tunnel for designing the HVAC system of platform. But until now, no good method could predict the air change accurately. In this paper, field test and 3-D CFD analysis using the commercial code FLUENT were applied to study the air change from platform screen doors. The mowing mesh technology was applied to realize the motion of the train. And with creating the interface between platform and tunnel, the platform screen doors opened automatically was realized. By comparing the results of measurement and numerical simulation, the air change volume was determined through the platform screen doors, with is a good reference for HVAC design of platform.
