The steel manufacturing process system consists of state change, material property control and mass flow control. It is a huge multi-dimensional logistics management system. This review summarizes the important position of logistics in steel production; points out the necessity of research and development of the self-propelled transporter which is a special vehicle in steel plant; gives a detailed description about the wide application of the slag pot carrier and self-propelled pallet carrier in steel plant logistic transportation and analyzes its trend in steel plant logistics.
