The awning and lighting are common facilities to alleviate the “black hole” effect of the tunnel entrance. In order to ensure the safety of drivers, it is necessary to study the impact of the tunnel entrance awning on the visual characteristics of the driver. In this paper, the basic eye movement characteristics, dark adaptation characteristics, dynamic visual characteristics, etc. are compared with the non-awning situation lighting inside. The research results show that the setting of the awning helps to improve the average gaze time of the driver and the average gaze ratio, reduce the number of blinks, and promote the driver to pay attention to the driving task; it can reduce the average dark adaptation time of the driver and effectively alleviate the “black hole” effect; the awning has little effect on the driver’s gaze concentration area and the gaze transfer mode.
