With the promotion of the “Internet + transportation” travel mode, ride-hailing drivers are emerging as a new group. Therefore, evaluation of safety awareness of ride-hailing drivers is important significance for improving the level of road traffic safety. Using a safety awareness questionnaire, 216 Chinese ride-hailing drivers were studied from three dimensions: risk perception, risk attitude, and risk behavior. The responses were analyzed using SPSS. The results show that the level of risk cognition, risk attitude, and risk behavior of Chinese ride-hailing drivers vary, and the safety awareness of all samples is generally at a medium level, with great room for improvement. The influence of background variables on driver’s safety awareness also varies. Gender and age have no significant impact on safety awareness. Driving age only has a significant impact on risk behavior. Accumulated driving mileage, full-time and part-time differences, and the number of accidents in the last three years have significant impacts on safety awareness and index variables.
