Public transport-oriented diversified urban transport systems could be considered as a green traffic trend, and slow mode transportation, which plays an important role in transportation systems, is a green means of transport, too. This paper, based on the city of Jinan, had adopted a quantitative analysis method to compare Bus Rapid Transit with other transportation modes in terms of energy conservation and cutting emissions. Then from a slow transportation mode infrastructure, the travel behavior characteristics and security issues of the slow mode transportation system in the city of Jinan are analyzed and evaluated through questionnaires. Finally, this paper suggests combining the merits of public transport and slow modes of transportation, specifically the launching of a public rental system, to solve the problem of the "last kilometer" dilemma for the public, eventually forming patterns of green transport systems based on the combination of public transport, bicycles and walking.
