The paper describes the conceptual development of a Prototype household based daily activity schedule model designed as a multi-agent simulation system with a household kernel agent. The paper presents a behavioral agent architecture that is used to reproduce the daily activity scheduling behavior of individuals as well as the household. The proposed architecture is thought to improve current individual based scheduling models by explicitly representing a household interaction mechanism in the process of daily activity scheduling. The model features interactive household agents. The schedule of the household members within the household are generated simultaneously to allow for the interaction between members that normally occurs within a household. The key way members interact in the current conceptualization is through household kernel agent. The household kernel agent is responsible for coordinating schedules of members to determine feasible allocation of household level activities among the person level schedule. Furthermore, the household agent is responsible for generating a set of joint activity episodes, in which more than one person in the household take part in an activity. In addition, the household agent handles conflicts that arise due to overlaps between competing activities at the person schedule, by representing a household conflict resolve mechanism. The household conflict resolve is intended to take the previously person scheduled activities and determines possible re-allocation to other individuals in the household.
