A resident trip survey is the most basic investigation tool to understand resident trip characteristics. Because of the unique features of walking trips, they present some problems in resident trip surveys. This paper analyzes the problems of trip definition and the effects on walk trip sharing percentage. It also elaborated on several other problems that affected the data accuracy. According to these problems, we put forward the corresponding suggestions.
