In this article, we analyzed the characteristic of the intersection with prior tram and designed a system for simulating the behavior of the cars and trams when different control strategies of the traffic lights are imposed. The whole implementation system is based on Visual C++ and OpenGL and the details of the architecture were elaborated. The experiment results showed the proposed system is configurable for different numbers of lanes, arrival rates for cars and trams, and signal control strategies, meaning that our system can simulate the behavior of cars and trams at various intersections, achieving the target we had expected.
