To understand the actual situation of a port, it should be observed from different perspectives; to evaluate the actual situation of a port, we should use a number of measurement indicators. Take this as a starting point, this paper first introduces the background and reasons for writing. Secondly, it simply describes the competitiveness of our ports and more specifically presents the method of studying the integrated competitiveness of our ports. At the same time, it classifies our ports according to their competitive characteristics, which is the innovation point of the paper. Thirdly, it analyzes the comprehensive competitiveness index ranking of Chinese ports, describes the changes between 2007 and 2006, and identifies a few representative ports on the list, analyzing their various indicators, strengths and weaknesses in detail. Lastly, it sums up the characteristics of Chinese ports based on the previous expressions and gives corresponding policies and recommendations.
