Aiming at the common damages of steel bridge deck pavement, such as pushing, slippage, cracking, etc., dynamic characteristic and shapes of traffic loads were analyzed. By simulating wheel loads as moving dead loads, dynamic responses of six types of pavement system subject to moving loads were investigated using finite element method and three mechanical indexes, and the results were compared with the static ones, thus the optimal structure was given. The analysis results show that dynamic responses of deck pavements are different form the static ones. The worst load position in on the mid-span of two transversal diaphragms. The traffic loads on the pavements mostly like half-sinusoid loads. The obvious errors exist in static calculations of the shear stresses between deck and pavement, and larger shear force between deck and pavement caused by dynamic loads is the main reason of damage types of pushing and local packing.
