Public transportation development can be an effective way to alleviate congestions in urban areas, as well as save cost and reduce pollutant emissions. Under this premise, one of the major emphases in China in the near future is the development of public transportation, such as buses, subways and trains. Therefore, it is essential to understand the pollutant levels in these facilities, to better serve and protect the public. With this in mind, air pollutant emissions, such as CO (carbon monoxide) and black carbon were measured on the trains (high-speed and regular), subways and buses in China, together with temperature. The traffic parameters were recorded by a GPS. Data analysis will be performed to evaluate transportation impacts, such as speed, on air pollutants levels inside these facilities.
