Intermittent bus lane is an effective way to improve efficiency and road space utilization. In this paper, we improved the calculation method of road clearing time before bus arrival by considering bus stopping time, and we established cellular automata models of intermittent bus lane and ordinary bus lane. Numerical experiments were carried out to simulate the traffic flow in intermittent lane and ordinary lane. By fitting the curves of speed and traffic flow density, the traffic flow density conditions of intermittent bus lanes under different bus traffic conditions were determined.
