Wide using of smart cards provides an economical and effective method forpassenger trip statistics and analysis.Based on smart card data mining and processing during a working day atBeijing Metro,we analyzed the possible errors of smart card data. After that, a process to generate the distribution of travel frequency for Beijing metro using smart card data is presented. Then we show the travel time distribution and describe the characteristics of different types of stations and analyze the peak hours of different stations. The analysis and extraction of smart card data can not only provide support for metro daily management work, but also can guide network planning and urban planning in the future.
