Intelligent shuttle bus scheduling is one of the main development trend of urban public transportation in the future. In the public transportation operation and management, we usually make shuttle buses’ scheduling plan of stations according to the traffic demand during the morning and evening peak periods. In this paper, firstly, we use the intelligent transportation system to predict the exact time of next bus to arrive at certain stations. Then, based on the interests of the passengers, the time cost of passengers and the bus operation cost are formulated as objective function and the scheduling model of the urban public transport shuttle bus is developed. Finally, a genetic-newton algorithm is used to solve the problem, and the model is validated by an example. The result provides a reference for the scheduling plan of urban public transportation shuttle bus.
