Traffic safety is one of the most important issues of transportation. In our country, most serious accidents have happened on the highway system; so,the design of safety facilities is very important. As we know, many scholars have studied the safety designing of traffic facilities from different perspectives. This paper mainly researches the design of highway facilities based on visual psychology. We have put forward three design products based on this concept. In the first section of this paper, design philosophy - involving vision and knowledge - will be introduced. In the second section, three designed productions will be presented. Details such as size and setting place selection will be given. An effectiveness tracking study will be presented in the third section. The conclusion of the test shows our safety facilities design based on visual psychology, which has improved the safety level of traveling in the highway system.
