By analyzing a driver’s nighttime visual characteristics, combined with the vehicle body contour, the headlight scattering angle, and other limiting factors, the driver’s night driving field of view is obtained. Based on the relationship between the driver’s night vision field and the road plane line shape, the contour making calculation model of the highway is established. Using UC-win/Road simulation software, simulation driving platform, and eye tracker, the simulated driving under different sight guidance facilities setting schemes is carried out, and the visual indices and vehicle running indices of the testers under different setting schemes are compared. Through this, we can verify the rationality of the setting spacing of the contour marking. The research results will help to set the contour marking of different types of road sections on the expressway and remind the driver of the linear change of the road to ensure greater safety while driving.
