The ride comfort of passenger railway vehicles is receiving increasing attention by manufacturers, and a prototype vehicle may develop different specific models and be sold to different customers. Although the standard varies in different countries or regions, the evaluation method can be divided into three parts as frequency weighting, index calculation, and threshold evaluation. The UIC, ISO, EN, and GB standards have similar frequency weighting curve and index calculation formula. Therefore, in this paper, the strictness of above standards is compared, the ride comfort index conversion method between different standards are discussed, and a normalized ride comfort index is proposed adapted to different standards. This paper is helpful to further develop the comfort index evaluation system.
